Elysia’s Approach
While Elysia’s approach is grounded in gestalt therapy and a strong focus on the client’s present-moment experiences, she also draws from integrative and evidence-based approaches such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), and Schema Therapy. Elysia also incorporates mindfulness and somatic-based approaches where appropriate.
Elysia has a particular interest in the intersection between mental and physical health, including the impact that stress, trauma, emotional overwhelm, and nervous system dysregulation can have on the body. She is passionate about supporting clients in developing a deeper understanding of the mind-body connection and fostering greater self-awareness, self-compassion, and emotional regulation.
Elysia works collaboratively with clients to validate their experiences and support meaningful, sustainable change. She has a warm, relaxed, and conversational style and does not pathologise or diagnose individuals. Instead, Elysia meets clients where they are with compassion, curiosity, and non- judgement.
