Our Heritage
Many of our ongoing patients remember our humble beginnings in Bassendean.
The Wellness Place began operation in 2004 from a single room establishment on old Perth road. Even then- we knew that we needed a larger location that we could purpose-build toward our future vision for the clinic.
The new site became known as “The Place”. A second-hand antique store for over 40 years in Bassendean, In 2005 we were able to take over the site and begin months of sleepless nights, work and renovation, council permissions, rezoning, and fit-outs.
“The Place” had been neglected for years. The walls and floors were made of differently shaped slabs of concrete, and bricks were often broken into pieces. The plumbing was a wreck, the roof was broken and the absence of any dividing walls or ceiling working together difficult.
After a year of work we opened our doors at “Bassendean Chiropractic and Wellness Clinic” in 2006. Later, in recognition and honor of the history of the building, we named the clinic “The Wellness Place”.
In 2015 we opened our new satellite practice inside Next Gen Gym at Kings Park, West Perth. The new venue allowed many of our clients who worked in the city to have access to wellness and treatment near their place of work. It also allowed our clients to have access to a state-of-the-art facility in one of the most prominent gyms in Perth.
In 2020, after establishing a strong connection and relationship with 8-time world champion, Daniel Dawson, we agreed to establish a joint venture at Legends Academy (a Muay Thai gym Dawson co-owns with Jay Twomey), which became “Legends Wellness”.
This new venture allowed us to establish another satellite gym providing Sports chiropractic and Sports physiotherapy services to patrons and professional fighters at Legends Gym.
A special thanks go to our wonderful team who have been an essential part of this journey and without whom we would not be able to serve thousands of members of the community.
Our work at The Wellness Place is ongoing, with constant attention to improvement in both our facilities, our skillsets, and new ways to better treat and provide for our clients and customers.
