Alex has played many sports growing up in the country of WA (Karratha). Where there wasn’t much else to do except compete with his brother, Alex went on and excelled in Soccer getting a trial for the Western Australian state team. After successful trials, Alex went on to represent Western Australia in domestic and international tournaments and became captain of the National Training Centre (NTC) for 5 years. He then became a squad member for the Perth Glory Youth team, before honing his craft in the Western Australian State league for several teams where he also became a captain of the Stirling Lions. Unfortunately, a persistent knee injury that required multiple knee operations and procedures lead Alex to become a sports, movement, and rehabilitation specialist!
Perfecting his craft, Alex finished a Bachelor’s degree in Exercise and Sports Science that lead to post graduate studies attaining a Bachelor in Exercise Physiology. This wasn’t enough however, and Alex wanted to target his studies to something more familiar, sports! He went on to further studies in the form of a Masters in Strength and Conditioning at Edith Cowan University. Alex is currently finishing his off a second Master’s degree to become a Physiotherapist at Curtin University.
In the meantime, Alex has gained both personal training and group fitness training experience over the last 6 years. Although his experience and knowledge are catered around sports and performance Alex has a multimodal approach to incorporating exercise, health, and wellbeing to anyone with acute, sub-acute and long-term injuries and disabilities. Alex understands that different individuals prefer different type of exercise and believes that a healthy lifestyle is beneficial and possible for everyone.
